But unlike Gene, we can’t rely on the intervention of a fanatical demon sect to help us out of the muddle. Even if we could, their motives would be highly suspect. Perhaps the Oracle knows the answer to the conundrum, given the supposedly omniscient perspective of its timeless higher dimension. But the Oracle, much like the universe itself, doesn’t willingly spill its secrets, preferring to offer cryptic clues in lieu of direct answers. It’s a mystery we have to figure out for ourselves.

*Even when standing still, Buffy stands on the Earth, and technically is “moving” with it as the Earth travels through space and time. None of us is truly stationary.
